To be the second marathon of France is not an easy task, and yet the whole structure relies on volunteers: The backbone of the organization is constituted by the 64 members of the association of the Marathon de La Rochelle Serge Vigot.

Starting in January, monthly meetings are organized to prepare the event. Each member takes charge of a specific mission (a commission), but s/he can not handle everything alone. This is why, around the event date, 1300 volunteers give a few hours or a few days of their time for the success of the event. La Rochelle Serge Vigot Marathon association, aware that nothing could be done without these volunteers, offers them a small gift on the day of the race and invite them for a “volunteers party” in January.
